We are amazed at how many people have asked if we could use money to help with the cremation and funeral expenses. Miraculously, one of the mortuaries here in town gives an 80% discount to families with babies who need their services. Actually, we just got home from meeting with them setting up the final arrangements and to pay the bill. Seriously a huge blessing!
Joe and I have decided we're going to have a memorial service, we just don't know when at this point. We need some time to process what we're going through and to coordinate all the pictures and video we have so we can make some presentations for the service. The service will be at our church sometime soon and we'll let you know when the date is set. Probably via Evite...so open this one, people! :)
Not many people know this, but the decision to carry Cayla to term not only came with physical, emotional and spiritual considerations but also monetary. Unfortunately, we moved to a deductible medical plan just after Jonas was born (to save money) which meant that we were going to pay a whole bunch of money out of pocket for medical expenses for this pregnancy. We've moved finances around (like refinancing our home, putting my student loan on hold, etc.) to help take care of the medical bills. Haven't gotten the final amount yet, but hopefully we'll have enough for it all when all is said and done. Obviously being on a single income doesn't help, but we're seeing God provide.
Since we're not really inclined to visit a cemetery to remember Cayla, we've decided we'd like to make a nice space commemorating her in our yard. We would like to purchase a nice fountain and re-work a part of our rose garden to accommodate some new plants/flowers so we can have a place close to us to tend to. I think having something that's "hands-on" to take care of will be therapeutic for our family. And of course, these things will be something we can take with us if we ever move.
So, if you'd like to make a donation towards medical bills or the purchase of a fountain and mini-garden, you are welcome to do that. But above all else, please keep us in your prayers. We so desperately need them.
Love,
Carly

Once again, thank you just isn't enough for your choice to let so many of us share in this journey with you. Our Almighty Father "...will supply all your needs according to HIS riches in glory in Christ Jesus" and I cannot wait to see how He is further glorified through you.
Much love & prayer for you guys
Thanks you so much for posting pictures Carly. I totally cried - some tears of sadness for your loss, but mainly tears of joy that you got to meet little Cayla alive and have those few precious moments with her. God is so good and so faithful!

These pictures are absolutely amazing! What an incredible gift. Eden's sweet kiss is the most precious thing I have ever seen.
Your pictures are absolutely beautiful. I'm so happy that you have such beautiful memories to hold onto even if your daughter's physical body can not.
Bless you and your family!

Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers,
for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

Carly and Joe,
What precious pictures. Thank you so much for allowing us to see your daughter. My heart swells to see Eden and Jonas loving on her. What a gift. I love you guys and pray continually for your family.

but joy comes in the morning."
I thank the LORD for every season, because we don't deserve any.
How wonderful that you carried on despite it being such a financial sacrifice. These are lovely photos, Carly. You will never regret doing all you could for your dear little one, of that I am sure. With love, Cami
Carly is perfect. And so loved. We lost Isaac to Anencephaly on April 8th this year. I'm changed forever, as I am sure you are, too. Hang on....
